we can’t deny that God of War: Ragnarok It has been one of the most anticipated titles of this 2022 for PlayStation. Sony has managed to lift a disastrous year, in every way, proving, once again, that sagas with a good single-player story still have a bright future ahead of them. This title has been released exclusively for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, and, for now, it is not expected on other platforms. But what if we want to play it on PC?
For a long time, there are already several PS4 and PS5 emulators circulating on the net. Despite the fact that they have been consoles that have resisted emulation quite well, in the end everything falls apart, especially when they use well-known architectures such as AMD. These emulators allow us to play some of the games released for the PS4 throughout its long history, and also, depending on the titles, even do better than on the console itself.
Of course, God of War: Ragnarok is one of the most ambitious titles that most exploits the potential of the PlayStation 4. Therefore, it is recommended to play it on PS5 if we want to enjoy its quality and performance to the fullest. However, we must bear in mind that getting a Play 5 is neither easy nor cheap right now. That is why many users look for alternatives to be able to play the games on this console. And, if the PS4 is not an option for you, surely you have thought about emulators.
Play God of War legal on PC
The first thing to keep in mind is that there is no legal way to play this game on pc. Sony, for now, maintains the exclusivity of this game for its two desktop consoles. Therefore, if you are thinking of giving the game a try on PC, for example, you will not be able to do it.
If you feel like God of War, we recommend you play the 2017 game, which does have an official version for PC that also improves the graphics and general performance compared to the one it had on the console.
It is likely that within a year or two, God of War: Ragnarok will arrive on Steam and we can play it on the computer. But for now, this is not an option.
And the emulators?
There are many PlayStation 4 emulators that we can use to run Sony console titles on PC. there is even already a functional play 5 emulator, proving that sooner or later this new console will fall. However, it must be borne in mind that these are very limited emulators reserved for some indie games, old titles, one of the first to come to the console, and much, much homebrew, but not much else.
So, none of the emulators will be able to run God of War: Ragnarok. These have not yet evolved enough to be able to move the latest heavyweight from Sony. They won’t even be able to with the predecessor, the one from 2017. The developers still have quite a bit of work ahead of them to allow us to play these games smoothly.
If we want to play this new God of War, the best option right now is buy a second hand ps4which are quite cheap, and use it to become a true god of war.
